X-Blades is a hack-and-slash style action-adventure game in which the player must fight monsters, using a pair of gun blades and spells, through indoor and outdoor levels in order to progress. Monsters are encountered in both preset numbers and in areas with Monster Generators which spawn both standard and boss opponents until they are destroyed. Power-ups and coin fragments which grant upgrades are hidden throughout the game. Power-ups include combat techniques, magic, weapon enhancements, and teleportation. Also earned throughout the game are experience points which can be converted into skills. These skills are of either "light" or "dark" alignment and the use of them has an effect on whether the player receives the "light" or "dark" ending.

События обладающей шикарным геймплеем игры day of defeat происходят во времена второй мировой на территории европы. Необходимо захватить все контрольные точки на карте, уничтожить вражеские объекты или выполнять разносторонние задачи. Акцент сделан на командные стратегии. Выбирая один из шести разных типов игроки будут взаимодействовать, используя встроенные системы связи для скоординированной обороны и атаки. Используя уникальные вооружения каждый класс делает свой вклад в успех целой команды. Данная игра очень похожа на counter-strike Source.

Включившись в игру, участник выбирает между двумя воюющими сторонами: Вермахтом и Союзниками, а также шестью классами. У каждой команды есть фиксированная зона появления, на территории которой игроки возрождаются после смерти. В случае летального исхода, каждый игрок становится частью подкрепления, из которого он может наблюдать за сражением, но не может повлиять на его исход. В процессе сетевой игры вы должны убивать врагов, но победа напрямую зависит от выполнения заданий, которые на данный момент могут быть двух типов: захват ключевых точек на карте - для захвата может требоваться как один, так и несколько человек. Второй режим - Detonation (подрыв/минирование). Здесь бойцам необходимо брать взрывчатку из груза и ставить ее на точки противника, одновременно защищая свои точки.
